Creative Pro Bono Programs and Universal Representation
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Attorneys in Justice & Diversity Center’s (JDC) Immigrant Legal Defense Project and Pro Bono Legal Services Program will engage in a panel discussion moderated by OneJustice. The attorneys will highlight the unique way in which JDC provides holistic representation to the most vulnerable populations through creative pro bono programs and how JDC is leveraging data to advocate for due process in the courts, continuity in services, increased funding, and universal representation. This session will also provide an overview of successful universal representation models nationwide and engage the audience in exploring what we can learn from these models, as well as how we can surmount challenges to advocating for universal representation.

Creating Replicable & Scalable Pro Bono Models: Challenges & Opportunities
Limited Capacity filling up

We frequently speak of the importance of building “replicable” and “scalable” pro bono service delivery models to meet the vast need for basic legal services in our client communities. On its face, these goals seem glaringly obvious and vitally important: With limited resources and capacity, why waste time “reinventing the wheel” or executing resource-intensive service delivery models that serve only a small number of our many clients in need? Yet there are pitfalls to designing projects that are replicable and scalable and still responsive to the nuanced and shifting needs of our client communities across different regions, eras and legal needs. Using examples of models that have sought replicability and scalability, this session will be an interactive and dynamic conversation and problem-solving opportunity for diverse stakeholders to discuss these complex concepts and move towards a nuanced yet impactful framework for advancing responsible replicability and scalability across the pro bono sector.
